While the gentleman at the front desk checked me in, he was yelling at one of his coworkers. When checking in, I chose the IHG Elite status line because it was shorter (and I have status), but even though there was only one person in front of me in line, 4 other customers were helped in the other line before I finally started my check-in process. I stayed at Renaissance Wind Creek Aruba Resort with my sister on a much-needed getaway. We were facing a side street and it was very quiet. The resort may want to reconsider who they have working the front desk. The other staff members we encountered throughout our trip were excellent. I thought that maybe it was just an off day for him, but throughout our time at the resort, we witnessed a similar scene each time we passed through the lobby. The process took a mind-blowing 20 minutes, when it only should have taken 5 minutes max to complete the obligatory ID check and paperwork. ![]() Even when he was speaking directly to me, he did not make eye contact and continued to stare off into the distance, very strange. ![]() In between the yelling, there were awkward silences when he just stood there, staring off into the distance, as though he had zoned out.
